How to BBQ Fish Fillets

CHEF’S ADVICE

Don’t place your fish on the hottest part of the BBQ – it will cause the flour to burn without actually cooking the fish

Always dust and fry your seafood in self raising flour, plain flour has a tendency to go soggy.

STEPS

  1. Lightly dust your fillets in self raising flour then dip them into oil
  2. Heat the flat plate grill component of your BBQ to a moderate temperature
  3. Place the fillets onto grill
  4. Use a spatula to turn the fillets over
  5. To test if they are cooked, open the thickest part of the fillet and if it is opaque in the middle then it is cooked

CLEANING

When it comes to cleaning your BBQ afterwards, here are some simple steps you can follow:

  1. Heat the BBQ
  2. Scrap away any food
  3. Wash and wise the BBQ with a damp rag
  4. Cut a lemon in half, stab into the centre line, and – using the cut side down – wash the hotplate with the half lemon
